Setting up a homeschool in Malaysia is a huge challenge. Besides from providing quality education, homeschool operators should understand the Do’s and Dont’s when providing foreign education. Here are some simple guidelines you may need to understand before you set up a homeschool:-

  1. Marketing
    1. Where is the market?
    2. You cant place banner on the street.
    3. You have to advertise it online.
    4. Type of marketing to hit the right crowd
  2. Subject Grouping-
    1. What is the minimum subject and the grouping
    2. Wrong grouping of subject may cause students unable to have enough credit to enrol in colleges
  3. Financial Stability
    1. At least RM 30K for renovation and buying furnitures
    2. At least RM 7K for digital marketing and brand awareness
    3. At least RM 20k to hurdle through the rainy days
    4. At least RM 4k for the IGCSE books
  4. Age group
    1. You must understand the age group needs for social development
    2. Differnt age group will also have different sets of curriculum
  5. Fees and Structure
    1. Your fees should be at least 10% deviation from other homeschools.
    2. YOur fees should not be more than the International schools
  6. Text Book
    1. You need understand the type of textbook you need to purchase
    2. There are few versions consists of Core and Extendded
  7. Exam Centres
    1. British Council
    2. Private Schools
