Expat is not required to study in local school.

Expats do not have to send their kids to  study Malaysian public school. You can reside in Malaysia like any normal citizen but you are not required to send your kids to any public school. Since expat are not bounded to Malaysian curriculum, they can actually send their kids to either

  1. Private School
  2. International School
  3. Home School

Personally, i would recommend expats to send their kids to either International schools or Homeschool. Reasons are, because they do not need to learn our native language. They are able to study IGCSE and it’s cert still acceptably in many countries
